“I love being able to turn an assortment of clips into a full video that truly encompasses your memories for you to keep and share”
What content will you edit?
If you have video footage from your mobile phone, video camera or online stream, I can happily take and edit this together for you. I cannot take copyrighted material such as movies or TV shows and edit this for you if it is not legally covered by fair use. Click here for more information about fair use.
If you are a complete filming beginner and want to record videos with your smartphone, then check out the smartphone filming tips page for some advice.
How do I send you my videos?
I’ll setup a shared online folder on Google Drive (It’s a free app that will let you upload and download video to a folder I create for you) and you just need to upload all the footage for me to use. Once your video is completed I’ll upload the finished product to the same folder for you to download to your phone or computer.
What is covered with a video edit?
A wide range of editing techniques can be used on your video project. Some will be included as standard for your video, some will have to be requested. Depending on the length of your video and the number of requested extras, time for completion of your project will vary. When you get in touch we can discuss the details and I’ll formulate an estimated timescale.

Cuts, Transitions and Simple Effects
All video production will require cutting and piecing together video clips into one seamless viewing experience. Combined with some basic effects such as transitions, title cards, slowing footage, zooms and much more, I’ll put together your video clips to create a professional video.
This is typically a fairly quick process although the time to complete this will depend on the length of your video.
This will be included as standard with any project.
Below is a recent example of how I like to cut together footage. It shows how certain choices of effects and transitions can really bring the video to life.
This video has been colour graded and was shot with my Google Pixel 6 Pro mobile phone and Hohem iSteady m6 gimbal.
Special Effects
Special effects can vary from simple to complex. It can range from things like digitally removing objects (cloning) to adding 3D items or text as if it were physically there.
Depending on the special effects required, this can be a lengthier process.
This is not included as standard and can be requested depending on your needs.
See some examples above of how subtle or apparent specials effects can be in video production.
Audio & Mixing
A video can massively benefit from good audio. Whether it be music, balancing sound levels, removing background noise or adding sound effects. This can make the viewing experience more immersive.
Adding music to a project can be very quick and easy. Balancing sounds levels and adding sound effects can take considerably longer depending on the footage.
Basic music and sound balancing is included as standard.
This video shows a comparison of original audio vs a finished product.
Colour Correction & Grading
Some video footage might not come out as intended due to poor lighting or limitations of your camera.
Colour correction is the process of using special techniques to alter the colours in the footage to how it should have looked.
Colour grading is the process of editing colour in the video to add a style. This can make it look retro, cinematic, analogue, dreamy etc.
These techniques can take a varying amount of time depending on the level of detail.
This is not included as standard.
Above is an example of colour correction.
